AutoCorrect entry missing due to .ACL file is read-only.
Cause:
When closing the application after adding the AutoCorrect entry, the application is unable to save the entry to the AutoCorrect file (.ACL) because it is marked as read-only. No error message appears when this occurs.
Solution:
Remove the read-only attribute from the USER.000.ACL file and recreate the AutoCorrect entry.
1) Use the Windows Find utility to locate the <user>.000.ACL file:
a) Click 'Start' to display the Windows 'Start' menu.
Start menu
b) Select 'Find' and select 'Files or Folders...'. (The Find: All Files dialog box appears.)
c) Type <user>.000.ACL in the 'Named' box, where <user> is the name used to log onto Windows.
d) Select the local drive from the 'Look In' drop-down list box.
e) Select the 'Include subfolders' check box.
f) Click 'Find Now'. (The file appears in the find results window when found.)
2) Select the <user>.000.ACL file from the find results window.
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Properties...'. (The Properties dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'General' tab.
5) Clear the 'Read-only' check box.
6) Click 'OK' to save the file.
7) Add the AutoCorrect entry again.
